Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
