US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the brutal beheading of an Indian-origin motel supervisor in Texas recently.

"The time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch," Trump stated in a message on his social media platform.

Details of the Shocking Attack

The victim, fifty years old, was allegedly attacked with a bladed weapon by his colleague Yordanis Cobos-Martinez in front of his wife and child after a heated argument over a malfunctioning appliance.

The accused, who is now in jail, has been accused of murder.

Trump’s Reaction

Trump vowed that the accused "will face justice to the maximum of the law" and will be "charged with murder in the highest degree."

He also targeted the federal government, saying that the accused had been earlier detained for several offenses, including accused child endangerment, but was "freed back into society because his home country refused to accept his return."

Immigration Status of the Suspect

According to federal sources, Mr Cobos-Martinez is an undocumented immigrant with a final order of deportation from the US.

He was reportedly in custody at a facility in Dallas but was released on an order of supervision in early this year after Cuba "would not accept him due to his background."

Deceased’s Life

Nagamallaiah, who was from the southern Indian state of Karnataka, worked at the a local motel in Dallas.

He attended school and college in Bangalore, southern India, before relocating to the US in recent years. His son just finished secondary school and is preparing to begin university.

Timeline of the Attack

The violent incident occurred on 10 September. Law enforcement responded to a "stabbing call" and determined through investigation that the suspect had cut the victim repeatedly with an edged weapon.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a hold on Mr Cobos-Martinez at the local jail, where he remains in custody.

Follow-up

Nagamallaiah’s last rites were held on September 13 in Flower Mound, attended by loved ones.

A donation drive initiated to aid his loved ones has collected more than $321,000 to date.
