Patriots Match Best Winning Streak Since Brady Era with Triumph Over New York Jets

First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has scored five touchdowns this season

New England tied their longest winning run from the Brady era as they beat AFC East rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie Henderson was the standout with three TDs as the Patriots claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

Victory bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had scored first at Foxborough with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to finish the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the endzone halfway into the third quarter to make it 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the home side wrapped up the triumph
