Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
