Individual Incorrectly Stated Attacking Kirk to Mislead from True Gunman, Police Report

A senior suspect, taken into custody in the wake of the shooting of Charlie Kirk and subsequently let go, tried to assist the suspected gunman escape by posing as the perpetrator, authorities confirm.

Local sheriff Michael Smith stated that the suspect admitted to police that he had "exclaimed that he was the shooter to help the true gunman flee".

The main individual in the assassination is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who reportedly noted Mr Zinn's early detention after the attack, informing a companion through a text that the police "arrested some eccentric elderly man."

George Zinn was one of two people that police had detained for questioning after media personality Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on the tenth of September.

On the start of the week, a court ruled that Mr Zinn be held without bail, labeling him a "substantial danger" to the community.
