England Squad Revealed: Bellingham and Foden Omitted, Bukayo Returns

Thomas Tuchel has opted to stick with the identical Three Lions selection that triumphed against Andorra and produced a stellar display in Belgrade last month, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and Phil Foden in his selection for the upcoming exhibition match against Wales and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

Although Phil Foden pushing for a return to the squad after rediscovering his form at his club, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for Real Madrid following shoulder surgery, the head coach has decided against including two of the nation's biggest offensive stars. The young midfielder has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his return.

The England boss has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his injured Arsenal teammate the sidelined player. Jack Grealish has not been handed a recall.

The national team coach expressed his admiration for the energy in the previous selection and seems intent on keeping the same atmosphere. The Newcastle defender, who started at the defensive flank in the 5-0 win in Serbia, has dropped out due to a knee injury. Tuchel has opted against selecting a direct replacement for the Newcastle player but has included John Stones, who had to pull out previously. He has spoken about the centre-back's significance for England and has suggested deploying him in the middle of the park.

No spot has been found for the midfielder, who was called up in the previous squad but withdrew injured and was substituted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The manager stated: “It was only three weeks since the last camp and the last win, the last performance, so the question was why not bring the same group in because they established a benchmark. Now it is about building routines out of it. We have unfortunately a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Noni and we welcome of course Bukayo Saka in to take the place of Noni. Jarell Quansah was a late call-up last time; he will stay in camp.”
